FAQ's

🦉Is there anything specific I should bring with me for the weekend?

Required:

    • Water bottle
    • Travel cup/mug
    • Costumes
    • Your best bird imitation

Only if it’s easy:

    • Camping chair
    • Fun things to share with friends (like black light reactive toys)

🦉What are my answers from the RSVP form?

You should have received an email with your responses when you submit your RSVP form. Search “Emily and Jimmy’s Wedding” and it should come up in your email.

🦉How can I change my RSVP?

Reach out to Emily or Jimmy if you need to adjust any of your RSVP responses.

🦉Which airport should I fly into?

There are two international airports that are both close to Santa Cruz: the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and the San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC). Regardless of which you fly into, we would recommend renting a car for the duration of your stay.

🦉What should I wear?

We chose to get married over Halloween weekend so people could get creative with their attire. Feel free to dress in theme throughout the weekend. Comfy bird outfits for casual Friday! Whimsical bird costumes for a rustic wedding ceremony! Black light bird rave wear for the reception and after party. Check out our bird themed and black light themed pinterest boards for more ideas. Bring layers and wear comfortable shoes. Much of the terrain around the property is uneven and will gobble up high heels given the opportunity. If you’re camping, bring comfy clothes to bum around in and warm clothes for sleeping.

🦉How far is the camping area from the reception area?

Camping will be dispersed between a few different houses on the property, all of which are 5-minute walk from the Party Barn where the reception will take place.

🦉What is the bathroom situation?

We will be renting porta potties for the weekend. Due to the size of our septic system and the size of the wedding, we ask that only members of the wedding party use the indoor restroom. We will have a couple hand washing stations outside, but guests are also welcome to wash their hands in our kitchen.

🦉Are there showers on site?

There are 4 showers, one of which is outside. Showers will be available to all campers on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, priority will be given to members of the wedding party. If you are able to, please bring your own towel! Also note that hot water is limited. Baby wipes are always a great alternative. 🙂

🦉Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Outdoors! Please bring layers as it can get cold during the evening hours.

🦉What’s the weather going to be like?

Great question. Just like the Mystery Spot, the weather in the valley can be mysterious! Here’s a a fun weather website where you can look at temperature, cloud cover, and precipitation averages over a 5-year span. For October 31st, the average high is 67 degrees, the average low is 51 degrees, and the probability of precipitation is 13%.

🦉Is the wedding kid-friendly?

Kids are welcome during the BBQ on Friday and the wedding ceremony on Saturday. All other activities will be kid-free.

🦉Are plus-ones allowed?

We love you and the people you love, but unless we have already had a conversation with you about a plus one we are not able to accommodate any additional guests.

🦉If I’m not staying on the property, how do I get to and from Bragdor Hollow?

You’ll need to drive to and from the property. Make sure you enter the address into your navigation app before you leave for the property as you will lose service before you reach our house. If you plan to imbibe, please make sure you have a designated driver. The roads to and from the property are dark and windy. Uber and Lyft are not reliable, so if you find yourself unable to drive at the end of the night you’ll have to shack up in someone’s tent.

🦉Can I bring my bicycle?

You won’t need your bicycle for the wedding. However, if you like to mountain bike or road bike and you plan on coming early or staying late, you can bring your bike and explore some of the amazing trails and roads around Santa Cruz.

🦉Can I visit the Mystery Spot during the Wedding weekend?

Yes! Tours last about 45 minutes and need to be booked in advance. You can either park at the Mystery Spot for your tour, or you can walk there from Bragdor Hollow. Just don’t leave your car at the Mystery Spot and walk to Bragdor Hollow as you could be towed!

🦉Who should I reach out to if I have questions that weren’t answered above?

Feel free to reach out to Jimmy or Emily via text message. That is the quickest way to get a response.
